After your MOXI treatment, it is normal and expected for your skin to feel hot and inflamed, usually increasing throughout the first 12-24 hours post treatment. Swelling is common and expected, especially one-day post-treatment. You will begin to notice rough dark brown dots coming to the surface of the skin called MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris). These areas contain dead skin cells and pigment rising to the surface and sloughing off. While the MENDS are healing, your skin may feel like sandpaper and may be itchy. The healing process typically takes 7-10 days. By day 10 patients experience beautiful, glowing, smooth, and radiant skin.

BBL treatment corrects damage in deeper skin layers than IPL treatment. It addresses a wider range of skin concerns and is better at stimulating collagen production – an essential part of correcting all skin conditions. BBL treatment is also suited to a wider variety of skin types than IPL.
Because of its increased efficacy, BBL treatment produces a similar result in 1 to 2 treatments as IPL produces in 5 to 6 treatments. The tip of our BBL wand that touches the skin is a sapphire, used to keep the skin cool during treatment, making it more comfortable than IPL. Topical numbing is not necessary with BBL.
You should feel minimal to no discomfort during treatment as your provider gently glides the BBL HERO handpiece across the skin. Simultaneously, a sapphire on the end of the applicator’s device will keep the skin cool and comfortable. After treatment, most patients will continue to feel warm for an additional 30 to 60 minutes.
Patients receiving BBL HERO treatments can expect visible results in just 1 to 2 treatments, while less effective IPL technology often requires 5 to 6 treatments to show similar results.
If possible, come to your appointment without make-up.
Avoid sun, tanning beds and self tanner 2-4 weeks prior to treatment.
Refrain from taking certain antibiotics and using topicals containing glycolic acids, alpha-hydroxy acids or any Retin-A products several days prior to each treatment.
